Recruiting new people is not easy these days. Many companies therefore turn to the classroom, where they try to convince students who are close to graduating to come and work for them after their studies.
But can you use your standard company presentation when presenting to students?
The company presentation tells the story of your company. Who it is, what you do, services and products, etc. Not unimportant, but to convince young people you will still have to tell a different story.
Tell a story that connects with their world.
Show them what they can expect when they start working at your company. Show them that you have a specific plan for them when they begin - the first days - and a career path for the coming years. Show them how they can grow. Personally and within the organisation. Be as concrete as possible about it.
By adapting your story to this specific audience, you can respond to what they find important while still keeping the identity of your company.
Finally, you could consider having this presentation given by one of your recently recruited colleagues. Have someone speak who is as close as possible to the group of students in terms of age and world. They speak the same language and the whole thing comes across as very authentic.
The next time you head to the classroom for potential hires:
Good luck with your next presentation.
