Mission, vision, values and strategy in the company presentation

When building a storyline for a company presentation, there are various components: mission, vision, history, values, products, services, etc.

The question, however, is how we can work these building blocks into a presentation as meaningfully as possible to tell an engaging story. With a company presentation we want to inform people about the company's possibilities and inspire trust. But above all we have to make sure the most important parts are remembered.

There are two moments in a presentation where, thanks to heightened attention, the audience is also more receptive to understanding information and therefore remembering it better. That is at the beginning and at the end of a presentation.

These two moments are very important for every presentation, so we have to take them into account when building the story.

Start strong

Make use of the moment of attention at the start of the presentation. Make clear straight away what your goal is, what you believe in, or what you want to achieve together with the (potential) client. This information is often found in the mission or vision of a company. So work it in at the beginning, but do so without calling it 'mission' or 'vision'.

The middle

In the middle part of the company presentation, we look at what the company stands for and what it believes in. Clients buy from a company they trust, not just one with a good product at the best price. For this we draw on the values of the company. But we don't put these on a slide under the title 'Our values' either. Give substance to the values. What do those values mean for the (potential) clients?

The history of the company can also be placed in the middle part of the presentation. The sustainability strategy also finds its place here, unless it has a direct connection with the products or services presented later. In that case, the sustainability goals should be placed as close as possible to the products in the presentation. Make this as integrated and, above all, as concrete a story as possible. Indicate how they will affect life in general and the client specifically. Show that effect too.

In the second part of the middle section, we then bring in the company's products and/or services. In an overview, possibly with a supporting slide to give a little more explanation. But in a general company presentation we don't go into detail about the concrete offering.

End of the presentation

At the end of the presentation there is a second high moment of attention. We use it to round off the presentation. And we don't do that with a slide showing a question mark. On the last slide we bring the most important take-aways with which we send the audience home. The ones we expect them to remember from the presentation.
