Recruiting originally on the school benches

Recruiting originally on the school benches

Because of the tight labour market, many companies head to the school benches to inform candidate employees very early on and persuade them to come and work for them. Schools are happy to respond to this and organise afternoons where these companies can introduce themselves.

Three points of attention to make this important moment a success:

1) Do NOT use the standard company presentation

The standard company presentation is a business introduction of the company that is interesting for customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. But not for young people who are still unfamiliar with that world.

2) Step into the world of young people and not the other way around

Address this young, inexperienced target group about what they find important and engaging. Speak their language and see what is interesting for them.

3) Young people speaking with young people

Let young employees from the company testify themselves why they chose your company. Young people talk more easily with peers and will also attach more value to their opinion.

So turn the introduction to this young target group into a real contact moment. Look for an original angle, address them and, above all, do so in their language.

"Many thanks for the lovely presentation you made for Flamée & Partners. At the meet & greet we really stood out among the big competitors. The angle you came up with was spot on."
