We are not in the habit of advertising on our blog. Yet we want to share our enthusiasm for a moment about the latest pointer from Logitech, the Spotlight. This 'clicker' has a number of nice features we had not seen before.

The red laser for pointing at parts on the screen is of course familiar to us all. But Spotlight literally puts what you want to show in the 'spotlight' and darkens the rest of the slide. This lets you draw attention even better to a specific part of the slide during a presentation. Alongside the 'highlighting', the part in the spotlight can even be magnified a little.

The nicest feature is perhaps the ability to click on a link within the slides with the pointer. That way you can play a video by clicking on the play button. But it gets even better if you have had an interactive presentation made (Company presentation or Sales presentation). Until recently you had to operate the interactive elements (navigation, videos, ..) via the mouse or the keyboard. With Spotlight the interactive presentation can be operated with the pointer in your hand. That way, as a speaker in front of a larger group, you get the same advantages of the interactive presentation. You can adapt your storyline to the audience while giving the presentation. And we think that is a wonderful development...
